MVK Music Group Event & Booking Coordinator David Hausterman, Jr.’s passion for music and discovering new, emerging bands, was unrivaled. As someone who never hesitated to provide help and support to anyone who needed it, he was eager to work with bands and artists in order to help them flourish. As the Events & Booking Coordinator for MVK Music Group, David was responsible for helping to market our bands to various venues & talent buyers, as well as assisting in MVK’s event production side with planning, organizing, & promoting MVK produced shows, festivals and other events. You would be hard pressed to find someone who could match his smile, laugh and zeal for life and music.
After going missing for ten days, David and his truck were discovered, leaving behind a void with both MVK Music Group and those close to him. Friends, family, and artists close to David organized fundraising efforts in order to cover the costs associated with funeral costs, bills and other associated expenses. For so many people, David’s death was hard to swallow…for he had gone way too soon. He left behind so many cherished memories, and had made so many positive impressions on not only family members and his large network of friends, but to his MVK team members and those in the music industry. But even more so, he left behind a legacy…his son Corey Hausterman, drummer for Orlando based metalcore outfit Cold Subject. As his son’s, and Cold Subject’s, biggest fan, he had left his mark on Corey and the music scene indefinitely.
MVK Music Group Co-Owner & Founder, Brian Paul, who was a close friend of David’s, stated, “Losing David was one of the hardest things I have encountered in my life…his passion and positivity for not only music but life in general was infectious. He was so supportive of MVK and what we were doing in the music industry – trying to inject a positive “artists’ first” approach into the business side of things – and wanted to be a part of it…how could I say no? He was absolutely someone my business partners and I could count on, and knew would be dedicated to our mission. His impact is one we cannot and will not forget. We plan to keep his memory and passion for music alive for as long as we possibly can”.
MVK Music Group recently announced that they were organizing a fundraising live music event, with all ticket sales proceeds going to David’s family fund for mounting expenses. No date or location have been finalized yet, but MVK’s owners have stated that info will hopefully be announced in the coming weeks. In addition, MVK plans to honor David at all of its upcoming live shows, where his family will also have a donation table set up for fans attending the shows to donate in person. MVK owners Brian Paul, Attila Czako & Jesse Florentine also announced their plans to organize and host an annual “David A. Hausterman, Jr. Memorial Tribute Show” each year on the Saturday closest to David’s birthday (July 21st). Money raised from that event will go towards helping up and coming artists & bands fund the cost of studio recording, music videos, touring, etc. More details on that event will be announced as well in the coming months.
“Honoring David’s memory and passion for music is very important to us. Not only as a staff member, but also as a close friend and someone who wanted to see up & coming bands get their fair shake, we feel this is the best way to honor him”, said MVK owner Brian Paul.
The family has set up a GoFundMe, found HERE, and is accepting monetary donations via that platform, as well as CashApp ($DavidHausterman). In addition, as mentioned above, fans can donate in person at any of MVK Music Group’s upcoming live shows listed below:
