Pacific Northwest Rock Group Dead Rebel Saints Joins the MVK Roster

MVK Music Group announced today, that they have added Pacific Northwest hard rock group Dead Rebel Saints to their managed artist roster.

Dead Rebel Saints is a four piece hard rock band out of Tacoma / Seattle, WA. The band was started back in 2015 as a fun, side project between friends, however they soon realized they had something special and Dead Rebel Saints quickly became a serious endeavor and a main focus for the band members. Dead Rebel Saints consists of lead vocalist & lead guitarist, Keven James Hoffman, rhythm / lead guitarist Will Dicken, bassist Lee Bruso, and drummer Jerad Lewis. The hard rock quartet brings a classic hard rock sound to the modern day hard rock scene while adding their own style to their music.

Dead Rebel Saints has become a fan favorite in the Pacific Northwest, frequently headlining shows in Seattle, hometown Tacoma, and surrounding areas. They continue to push the limits and create music that crosses over into many fan demographics. Dead Rebel Saints has released one album titled “Throwing Stones” and is currently working on their second album release.

MVK Music Group Co-Owner & Founder Brian Paul, who was asked about their latest addition to MVK’s managed roster, stated “We have had Dead Rebel Saints on our radar for some time. With our connection to the Seattle music scene, we had the opportunity to see Keven and the guys perform live in the past, so when Keven came to us regarding management, the discussions went pretty smoothly.” Paul also added “I am a big fan of the classic rock sound…these guys possess a lot of that sound while adding a bit of modern grit to their music…they add a great element to our roster that I think we were looking for.”

He and business partner & Co-Founder, Attila Czako, will be sharing manager roles for the band. Czako had this to say about MVK Music Group’s newest addition, “I’m so excited to have a band on our roster that plays good old rock & roll music. Their style of music, being a huge fan of grunge, combines a good mix of that classic rock sound with a bit of that Seattle / Pacific Northwest flavor, which creates the perfect recipe. These guys are the real deal, and I am extremely happy to have Keven, Will, Lee & Jared in the MVK Music Group family of bands”.

We interviewed Dead Rebel Saints about the announcement and being added to MVK’s roster:

What does this announcement and working with and under the guidance of MVK Music Group mean to you guys? 

DRS: We are very excited to be working with MVK! The whole team is amazing! We’ve worked with other management over the years. We’ve never had such an involved and communicative team before. It’s been such a personal experience. 

How did you guys meet & how did Dead Rebel Saints form?    

DRS: We’ve all been playing in the local music scene for years…we’ve all played together in different bands on and off. I (Keven) actually met Will when he was 11 years old. I was his guitar teacher. His first band was playing with me when he was 15. It works great having him playing with me because I taught him how to play. He plays like me. We have the same style. I was in a couple other bands a few years ago when Will asked if I had any room for him to play. He had been home from college and was itching to play again. So, we started DRS as a little side project for fun just so we could jam again. We had no idea it would turn into something so cool.

What is the ultimate direction for Dead Rebel Saints?

DRS: I don’t know that there is an ultimate direction for us. We like to keep pushing the boundaries. We’re always trying to go somewhere new. I mean, we’re always going to be a rock n roll band. We’re always gonna sound like us. We’ll never turn into a thrash metal band or something. But I hope we don’t ever stop growing and evolving.

Who has influenced you guys the most musically?  

DRS: Oh man! That’s a long list! I mean, we each bring our own individual influences to the group. Some are obvious and others, not so much. Speaking for myself (Keven), I would say Soundgarden, Guns N’ Roses, Skid Row, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Deftones, Ani Difranco, Black Sabbath and Ozzy, Metallica, Pantera, Aerosmith, the list goes on and on. I could never pick just one

How would you describe the music that you typically create?   

DRS: Biker rock is probably the term that gets thrown around the most. And I would say I agree with that term. While I think we’re more diverse than one label, if I had to pick one, that would probably be it.

How would you describe your creative songwriting process?  

DRS: I typically write the songs. Or at least the basics of the song. Then I bring it to the band. And if everyone likes it, we refine it and everyone puts their own spin on it. 

Are there any other bands or artists that you guys would love to collaborate with?

DRS: So many! I think we’d all love to work with our heroes. Dave Grohl! That guy would be a blast to work with! But there are also some great artists and bands around here locally that we love and would love to work with as well. There’s a great band here called Ten Miles Wide. I’d love to do something with them at some point. 

If you could change anything about the industry, what would it be?

DRS: Personally, I’d love to see things go back to the old days when an artist could actually make a buck from selling a record. Back in the 60’s and 70’s a record label would invest in a band and help develop them. They’d have 3 or 4 albums to get their act together. They could experiment, grow artistically. They could afford to make groundbreaking music. That really doesn’t exist anymore. Artists make a fraction of a penny from downloads and streams. Labels don’t really sign bands anymore. Bands pretty much have to already be commercially successful before a label will come anywhere near them. 

What’s next for Dead Rebel Saints?  Anything you would like fans / new fans to know?

DRS: Next up for us is a new record. We like to make big records. Our last record, Throwing Stones was 15 songs. It filled every last bit of usable space on a CD. This new record is gonna be 15 songs as well. We don’t believe in making half a record. None of this 10-song nonsense. If you buy a Dead Rebel Saints record, you’ll get your money’s worth!
