FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Orlando, FL / Kansas City, KS – March 4, 2026 – MVK Music Group proudly announces the addition of Midwest metalcore force Stories Through Storms to its growing roster of elite talent. Known for their aggressive sound, emotional authenticity, and relentless ambition, the band is rapidly establishing themselves as a force within the modern metalcore landscape as they enter this defining chapter in partnership with MVK Music Group.

The band features a powerful lineup of musicians driving the band’s evolving sound: Storm Ruby (vocals), Timmy Taylor (guitar), Anthony Estes (guitar), Christian Kwitkowski (bass), and Chris Kassien (drums). Together, the five-piece brings a dynamic blend of intensity, creativity, and chemistry that fuels the band’s aggressive musical direction and relentless drive forward.

Founded in 2013 by vocalist Storm Ruby, Stories Through Storms initially built regional momentum before pausing due to personal differences. In 2023, the band was reborn with a darker, heavier direction and a sharpened vision. The result was their six-song EP Rebirth, crafted alongside Justin DeBlieck (ex–Ice Nine Kills). Released in August 2024, Rebirth chronicled five years of struggle, perseverance, and growth marking the beginning of a powerful new era.

Since then, Stories Through Storms has taken an aggressive approach to expansion—touring consistently throughout the Midwest and delivering high-energy live performances designed to feel like “a sweaty, loud, chaotic therapy session.” Their relentless momentum led to a distribution deal with Teamwork Records in late 2025 and an ambitious release schedule through 2027, featuring new music every two months.

Their single “True Colors” launched October 23, 2025 and was featured on Sirius XM Octane’s Test Drive, quickly becoming a fan favorite. December 2025 brought the release of “Fade,” an emotionally gripping anthem that cemented their return. In February 2026, the band unleashed “Dogbreath,” arguably their heaviest track to date—a blistering statement aimed at those who exploit others for personal gain.

A Sound Rooted in Emotion

For those just discovering the band, Stories Through Storms describes their sound as “aggressive and passionate.” Their mission is simple: stir something real inside the listener.

“Our goal is to stir something inside you — to trigger emotion in a real way. Whether that feeling is anger, sadness, motivation, or anything in between, we want our music to make you feel something undeniable.”

The Meaning Behind the Name

The band’s name carries a deeper meaning. Years ago, a former bandmate suggested the phrase “Stories Through Storms” for a different project. At the time, it didn’t quite fit. But when Storm later formed this band, the name resurfaced and immediately resonated.

“Stories Through Storms represents growth through chaos — the idea that everyone has their own battles, and those battles shape who they become.”

The Origin Story

The band’s origin story also reflects that sense of transformation. Storm originally played guitar but had always wanted to pursue vocals. When friends invited him to jam, he showed up with a microphone instead of a guitar—sparking what would become Stories Through Storms. Over time, the right lineup formed naturally, with undeniable chemistry.

“That moment sparked something different. Over time, the right people came together naturally, and the chemistry felt intentional. What started as curiosity turned into purpose.”

The Band Beyond The Instruments

Each member plays a distinct role beyond their instrument:

  • Storm Ruby (Vocals) – The spearhead
  • Timmy Taylor (Guitar) – The caretaker
  • Anthony Estes (Guitar) – The explorer
  • Christian Kwitkowski (Bass) – The wiseman
  • Chris Kassien (Drums) – The stabilizer

Influences and Creative Process

Stories Through Storms draws inspiration from artists such as Slipknot, Motionless In White, Architects, Memphis May Fire, and Wage War—bands that helped shape their balance of heaviness, melody, theatrics, and emotional intensity.

Their songwriting process is intentionally fluid.

“Sometimes it starts with a riff. Sometimes it’s a lyric. Sometimes it’s just a feeling that needs to come out. We’ve even heard random sounds in public that sparked ideas. Creativity can come from anywhere — we just stay open to it.”

Much of their music comes directly from personal experiences and real-life struggles.

“The situations we’ve lived through and the battles we’ve fought shape what we write. That honesty is important to us.”

Among their catalog, “True Colors” currently represents the most accurate snapshot of the band both musically and emotionally. Another track, “Breathless,” carries deeper meaning than listeners might initially realize.

“It was written as a tribute to unwavering support through incredibly difficult seasons of life. It represents gratitude, resilience, and the unseen strength that keeps us moving forward.”

When asked how they know a song is finished, the band laughs.

“Honestly, we don’t. We still revisit songs and think about things we could’ve added or refined. That’s part of growth.”

Live Energy and Fan Connection

Stories Through Storms has quickly developed a reputation for high-intensity live performances.

“We want our shows to feel like a release. A sweaty, loud, chaotic therapy session. We give everything we have on stage and expect that same energy in return.”

One of their most memorable live moments came during a Kansas City show when Storm brought his daughter on stage.

“Watching the next generation connect with music in real time was powerful. Seeing that spark reminded us why we do this.”

Certain songs take on new life in front of an audience. “To My Grave,” written during a difficult period of personal struggles, hits especially hard when performed live.

When fans leave a Stories Through Storms set, the band hopes they feel one thing above all:

“Exhausted but energized. Like they left everything on the floor.”

Joining MVK Music Group

For Stories Through Storms, signing with MVK Music Group represents an important step toward turning their passion into a long-term career.

“Our goal has always been to turn this into our career. We want to write and perform music for a living. MVK feels like the missing piece in building the infrastructure necessary to make that happen.”

Looking ahead over the next 6–12 months, the band is focused on expanding their reach through an aggressive touring and release strategy.

“The objective is simple: expand our reach. We want to enter 2027 with momentum, a stronger fan base, and a reputation for putting in real work.”

Personality Behind the Music

Even with their intense sound, the band maintains a grounded personality.

Most likely to be late to rehearsal? Chris — but he’s the drummer, so he gets a pass.

Most likely to start a deep 2 a.m. conversation? Storm.

Most likely to break a string mid-set? Timmy.

Most likely to forget lyrics? Also Storm.

Outside of music, the band members credit their families as their biggest sources of inspiration, with each member pointing to their parents’ sacrifices and support as a driving force behind their ambitions.

If they could share a tour with any three artists, their dream lineup would include Slipknot, Motionless In White, and Bring Me The Horizon.

Vision For the Future

When someone hears Stories Through Storms for the first time, the band hopes the listener feels one thing above all:

“We want them to feel like they’re not alone. Our music is for the people who’ve been through the ringer — because we have too.”

To them, success means touring the world, continuing to create meaningful music together, and being able to provide for their loved ones through the music they love to make.

And ten years from now?

“We hope people say, ‘They worked relentlessly — and it paid off.’”

A Word From MVK Music Group About The Newest Roster Addition

MVK Music Group Co-Owner, Founder, and Manager Brian Paul shared his excitement about the signing:

“This is a band you shouldn’t sleep on. These guys are making serious moves and have an immense amount of talent to go places. What stands out to me just as much as the music is their mindset. I really respect and appreciate their down-to-earth attitude and dedication to the craft. Their business IQ — the way they treat the band and their music as a business and not just a hobby — is rare with bands nowadays. That’s the difference-maker.”

With ferocity, focus, and infrastructure now aligned, Stories Through Storms enters its next chapter with purpose — and MVK Music Group is proud to help amplify the storm.
